Hajrović spent nine years in Grasshopper Club Zürich academy from 2000 to 2009. In the 2009/10 season he broke into the first team. He is used mostly as a attacking midfielder.
His brother, Sead, also played with him in the academy before moving on to Arsenal FC.
In 2009, he was called up to Bosnia and Herzegovina U19 camp, but was not selected by the coach to be included in the final squad.[1]
